✨ Welcome to the December edition of Brand & Beyond! ✨

As we wrap up the year, the digital marketing landscape is abuzz with innovation and change. From Google’s game-changing shopping tools to the rapid rise of new social platforms like Threads and Bluesky, and even Australia’s bold social media regulations, this edition highlights the shifts shaping 2025.

We hope you enjoy again the latest insights and explore how Deluux continues to elevate your brand!

Industry Game-changer

Google is introducing mobile shopping comparisons

This year’s Black Friday saw Google introduce smarter shopping tools to simplify the customer journey. With Google Lens, users can now scan products to instantly compare prices online, while Google Maps helps shoppers locate specific items in nearby stores, complete with prices and inventory details. For brands, these updates emphasize the need for strong online visibility and accurate local inventory to stay competitive during the holiday season.

Industry Game-changer

Threads & Bluesky: Rising rivals to XOpen AI launches its own Search Engine

Bluesky and Meta’s Threads are growing rapidly as users shift away from X (formerly Twitter). Threads now has 275 million users, and Bluesky 20 million, both smaller than X’s estimated 500+ million but expanding quickly. Offering more user control, like custom Threads in Threads, these platforms are gaining attention.

Threads is far more popular with brands, while Bluesky sees slower adoption, with companies like Netflix and Duolingo joining. Neither platform has ads yet, but their development is set to reshape the digital landscape in 2025.

ELEVATING PEOPLE

Australia moves to ban Social Media for under 16s 📵

Australia has approved a law to ban children under 16 from using social media, set to take effect within a year. Platforms will be required to verify users’ ages and take reasonable steps to block underage access, with strict penalties for non-compliance. This move could set a precedent, as other governments are likely watching closely. If successful, similar regulations may become widespread in the coming years.
